We have an incredible ranch home 35 miles from Chicago and are looking to try to trade/swap a similar home in the south for our family. We have never done this but with the economy, realtor fees, this may be the best thing going.
We have the largest yard in an upscale neighborhood and our family has made a decision to move South where I am originally from. If you also have any ideas on this new trade/swap, I apprecate…

Here's the thought.
Home Trading is no different than buying a home through conventional means. In other words, lets say you went with a Realtor to look at a home that was listed on the MLS. You…

The old web page was so easy to use, it gave quick and easy access to home in area that I might be interested in, but the new site you have to read so much data it takes forever to get though only to find out it isn't the right place. If the poblem was that no one was swapping to the swaps never got up dated change and but a time limit. New isn't always better, it may need refining but this isn't the web site i use anymore....I work from my home and just don't have the time to read and get cozy…

I am really disappointed with the new version of the web site. Not enough info on the houses and no logical way to sort through the maze. The daily notification of new home listed under the old format was great.

Can anyone tell me if they're familiar with the tax issues involved in a swap. Is it based on the assessed value of the house or the value that both parties agreed to exchance at?
