Punta Gorda House Swap Completed !!!
Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in my house in Punta Gorda, FL. Happy to say we have successfully completed a trade for a lakefront house in GA,just before Christmas & the people found my listing right here on Domuswap.

Thanks...It was a real learning experience & everyone that's heard about it found really interesting & thought it a really neat thing to do. I think the main thing to be aware of is to be flexible & realistic on your pricing and i't's something that will work for you & enable you to get on with your life.... just go for it :)

I also want to congratulate you on your trade. I was wondering if it really could happen. How long did the whole swap take? And how long did it take to find someone to trade with?

Actually I first looked at Domuswap somtime around last Feb or March. We had been in serious discussions with a couple who had a property in Ireland that we were very interested in. Unfortunately he became very ill & passed away, so that went by the wayside. Had inquiries, but nothing that really fit until late Sept or early Oct. when we had the inquiry from the fellow with the place in GA. They came to look at our house within a few days of contact, then a few weeks later we went to GA to look at the property. It looked like it would work, so we went forward getting an attorney licensed in both states to handle the transaction. We did the closing & took posession of the property on Dec. 18. The worst part of the transaction was dealing with the bank, they had a mtg which had to be paid off & needed to have the same mtg. amount put on our property that they were purchasing.... I would say if you are reasoable in your expectations, this is something that can get you from where you are to where you want to be !!!
