I have a 5 bed/4.5 ba home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was appraised at 1.1 mil 3 years ago but in todays market its value is closer to $799,000. Master is on main level with private sitting room with fireplace. All other rooms are large and have walk-in closets. Beds 2 & 3 are a Jack & Jill with a shared full bath, bed 4 has it's own private bath and bedroom 5 has it's own sitting room with private bath.
Our taxes run us $3,500 per year and insurance runs a bit under $1,000 which is on a 1.1 mil valued home.
A new kitchen was put in 3 years ago with cherry cabinets, granite countertops and backsplash and stainless steel KitchenAid appliances. The laundry has newer front load washer/dryer, cherry cabinets and quartz cabinets.
All main living areas are wood, upstairs bedrooms have newer carpeting and all baths are tile.

I have timber land is SC that would be very nice investment. The timber will be mature in just about 5 years. It has no maintenance or upkeep. I lease the property to hunters to pay for the taxes and make a few dollars. I would like a home in Florida.

Where exactly is your timberland in SC and how much land do you have? Also, when did you acquire your land and for what price? What would you plan to use the FL house for? My brother-in-law owns the house in FL free and clear. I am living in it. He needs the answers to the above questions before I can pass this on to him.
