House Swapping Version 2.0

Are the majority of house swappers here Real Estate Agents?

Hi Everyone,

Are the majority of swappers here in the Real Estate game? just that it seems to me quite strange how everyone is being affected by the Global recession but then the majority of people I see offering their propertys to swap have lots of them and they are all in the several million dollars range.

I thought that this site was for genuine people who couldn't sell their house but would do a swap because they wanted to live in the area and house that the other person offered. I am quite confused by people offering to swap but then wanting big cash payments aswell.

Maybe someone can elighten me on this matter?

I would just like someone to swap my house with someone who genuinely wants my house to live in - I'm not greedy, not out to even make a profit (now that's a rarerity these days!) but am I the only one on this site with the cheapest house?! - $166,000 USD

And, who's to say a Realtor doesn't have their own properties to sell? I know several who do. I am not a licensed Realtor, but I own 4 properties in various price ranges up to 1 million and would like to sell them. They are all very fairly priced and I am a "genuine" person.

Why would you turn away a professional who might bring you a buyer that would not have found your property otherwise? Realtors should have the pulse of the market and that includes creative forms of marketing. I say, bring them on! It's your decision to entertain a Realtor's offer or service anyway.
Yes, I am both a Realtos AND a person who owns a house I would like to swap, trade down etc.
Generally, we've been running 10% realtors, the rest for sale by owner. You may find realtors are the ones listing multiple properties, which makes sense.
, I don't see an advantage with non realtors over realtors. as long as they have something to swap.

The real issue is having a reasonable assessment of the properties worth and the desire to sell and the ability to follow through with the process.

I'd have to think Realtors are more realistic in price that owners, at least in my experience.
m keyes- I am just a regular ole' homeowner! My home is priced as the realtor priced it- in fact some below. $299,900. I am in a more remote but the most beautiful area- the northern rockies- not an area that many peple want to come to because you must not need a local job- it is the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park area- not a hot spot for jobs! I too, hope the right person will come around- it is just a slow time....
